Grey River, 6

Grey River 6.jpg

Dane Smith and Hunter Reed are lion shifters, who have been battling the fact that they have a mating bond between them that shouldn't exist. Meeting Xanthe White and recognizing her as theirs now makes it impossible for them to ignore it any longer.

At first she thinks that it's just Dane and Hunter who are fated, but it soon becomes apparent that all three are destined for each other. Despite her past, Xanthe has made a home in Grey River.

Under the impression that they were helping her to reunite with her sister, Dane and Hunter place Xanthe right in the path of the very danger she was hiding from.

Just as the three of them are finally on the same page, someone from Xanthe's childhood poses a threat. Dane and Hunter know they must keep her safe, but by the time they are able to pinpoint where the danger is coming from, it just might be too late.

Grey River Series in Reading Order

Reviews for

Xanthe's Choice

"Exceptionally well written, this is a wonderful addition to the Grey River series. Highly recommended by me, but I would say to start from the beginning - simply so you get a better idea of the previous relationships! Besides, who wants to miss out on major hotness?!"

"I've grown to love Grey River as I have read the series over the last week. I really enjoy how the characters continue to make appearances throughout each book in the series so you never lose track of what is going on in their lives along with continuing to build the sense of family that is Grey River."

“Xanthe, baby.” Dane’s voice came from behind her. “You are not alone in the falling-in-love department.”

Xanthe felt her mouth drop in shock. Oh hell, had they heard her basically flay open her chest and throw her heart on the table, declaring it theirs and no longer hers? They were shifters. Of course they damn well heard. Xanthe closed her eyes against the pain, not even opening them when she heard Angel whisper, “It’ll be okay, Xanthe. I don’t have to have the ability to read minds to tell you that.”

She didn’t even open them when she sensed Hunter and Dane join her in her booth, either. It was at the back of the café area and the large counter at the front of the café afforded them a little privacy.

Please let me fall back into a coma.

Right now, God.

Now would be good.

Cracking open one eye to concerned looks on the two men that peered closely at her, she knew her prayer had gone unanswered, as always. Damn it! Sighing, she opened her eyes, thinking it was probably best just to get this conversation over with.

“Dane’s right, Xanthe.” Hunter leaned forward as he spoke and placed his hand on hers where it lay on the café table. “We fell for you hard and fast, babe. One moment we were two hard-ass Enforcers on the trail of another rogue shifter, and then we caught your scent and everything in us screamed that you were ours.”

“And what you said in your shop just before?” Dane added as he leaned in and swept her long blond hair over her shoulder. “You were right about that too. Somehow the Fates have gifted me with something extremely precious, and have given me two incredible people as my mates.” He looked up and smiled at Hunter. When Hunter returned it with nothing but joy and happiness in his eyes, Xanthe began to think that perhaps there was a way for this to end well. “Hunter and I bonded almost fifteen years ago, but because of reactions we received at the time that we would rather not go into right now, we decided to ignore it.”

“When we met you, it was like the final piece of our future fell into place,” Hunter said quietly but the look in his eyes was intense. “Dane and I are mates, but you are ours and we are yours just as much. I truly believe that if Dane and I had acted on our bond when it first snapped into place, it would have been difficult for the three of us to come together as a true Fated triad like we can now. Does that make sense?”

Xanthe thought about that for a moment. “Yeah, it does,” she said with a nod. “I’m not sure how I would have felt if the two of you were already bonded, mated, and claimed in all aspects before we met. I think I would have always felt like I was the fifth wheel and wouldn’t have known my place in your relationship.”

Hunter grimaced. “As much as it pains me to think that you could ever have any doubts about your place with me and Dane, I can understand that. But, Xanthe, my darling, you are not a fifth wheel. If anything, you are the integral piece that will hold us all together. Without you, Dane and I would never have been able to admit what we are to each other.”

“Which leads us nicely into where your place is in this burgeoning relationship of ours.” Dane’s voice dropped low and Xanthe’s heart rate sped up as her arousal began to spike. “Your place is between me and Hunter. Pressed between us where we can keep you safe and be everything you want and need. Your role will be to love us and let us love you the way the Fates have determined it should be.” Dane grinned wickedly and shot Hunter a look. “And to help me put up with Hunter, who can act all dominant and shit and be really hard to handle when he wants to be.”

Xanthe giggled when Hunter narrowed a glare in Dane’s direction. “Firstly, I don’t act dominant. It’s who I am. And I know you love it, Dane Smith, so don’t try to pull that shit on me. Secondly”—Hunter turned in her direction and the possessive heat in his gaze had her pussy clenching convulsively—“I’ll make it so that you love it too, when I get all alpha on you and my gift for each small act of submission from either of you will be pleasure.”

Xanthe’s mouth dried up as she thought about what Hunter was saying. From what she was hearing, if she was to submit to Hunter, he would gift her with pleasure. Pleasure led to orgasms. Submission equaled orgasms. Done!

“And thirdly—” Hunter shook his head and grinned wryly as he looked between her and Dane. “Between the two of you, I think you will be able to handle me just fine.”
